Meet the Support Team

Practice Nurses

We have three highly qualified nurses:

  • Mrs Ann Graham

  • Mrs Angela Rowlands

  • Miss Rebekah Parkinson

  • Mrs Sallie Robinson

The nurses work at all three sites. Their duties include chronic disease management - diabetes, chest conditions, cardiovascular, stroke and high blood pressure.

Other duties include women’s / men’s health, foreign travel advice and immunisation, smoking cessation and lifestyle advice, ear syringing, 24 hr blood pressure monitoring, injections, ECGs, spirometry, blood testing and general advice on health matters.

Kerry Conroy - Health Care Assistant / Sally Moores - Phelbotomist

We have a qualified Health Care Assistant/Phelbotomist, who works along side the Practice Nurse team. Her clinical duties include: taking blood samples, performing ECG recordings, taking blood pressure readings, hearing tests and new patient screening medicals. Part of this role is administrative, assisting the Practice Nurses in their day-to-day responsibilities. One of her main functions is arranging, by telephone or letter, for patients to attend the Practice Nurse clinics for the various forms of monitoring.

Kay Atkinson - Support Pharmacist

MRPharmS (Pharmacy Degree), Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, CHD Diploma, Asthma Diploma, Diabetes Certificate, Supplementary & Independent Prescriber, Advanced Practitioner, Cert in Childhood Illnesses.

Kay joined the Practice 18th November 2008. She is involved in all forms of medicine management and is continually looking to improve prescribing practices within the surgery. Kay is also qualified to work as an advanced practitioner in a similar role to Bridget, the Nurse Practitioner, and can also prescribe medication.


Practice Director - Ms Julie Kennedy

Ms Kennedy has overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Practice at all 3 sites. She is always looking at ways to provide the best service for all our patients. She will be pleased to deal with any non-medical queries or suggestions you may have. She is supported by her PA - Maria Coward and Ruth Burge her Deputy Practice Manager. Her main office is at the main site Rosebank. She can be contacted on tel: 01524 842284.

Deputy Practice Manager - Ruth Burge

Ruth oversees the running of the admin and reception area. She has a team of Head Receptionists at each site. Any queries re reception or prescriptions should be addressed to her.

Kyra Ingle

Rosebank – Ashton Road

Supervisor - Receptionist/Dispensary

Jill Honey and Margaret Hughes are our Supervisors at Galgate if you have any queries re the dispensary, please speak to them. They are supported by James Salmon.


The receptionists’ job is busy and demanding. They receive regular training to ensure they are able to provide the best service to you.They are here to help you. Sometimes they may need to ask you for some information about your condition to ensure that you are dealt with as efficiently as possible. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors.


Lynne Ashton / Tracey Agar are our secretaries, they are responsible for all secretarial duties including referral letters.
