District Nurses

Their role is to see patients at home, or in their clinics, who require nursing intervention such as surgical dressings, injections, terminalcare and care of venous ulcers. They can be contacted on 849116.

Community Matron

The Community Matron sees patients in their home to carry out health checks and offer support and advice. She can be contacted on 518945.

Health Visitors

Leslie Duncan MA, BA (Hons), RN, RM, RHV and Vicky Poulett BN, RN, RHV, Dip in Breast-feeding Counselling work with patients from Rosebank Ashton Road and Rosebank Galgate. They can advise on health care to all age groups but is mainly involved with mothers, babies and young children. Their work includes child health surveillance, immunisation and health promotion. They can be contacted on 518935. Ruth Smith BA (Hons), RN, MW, Dip HV works with patients from Rosebank Scale Hall, and she can be contacted on 519512.

Midwife

Full antenatal and postnatal care is offered.

Most antenatal and postnatal care is now undertaken by the midwife. If you are pregnant, you can make an appointment to see the midwife directly without seeing your doctor first. Ladies with problems during pregnancy can still be seen by their own doctor with referral to the hospital specialists when this is felt to be necessary.

Social Worker

A Social Worker is associated with the practice and can advise where there are difficulties related to housing, social or family problems. They can be contacted through Lancaster Social Services on 66246.
